He nodded, taking off and walking to the inn owner. The older man gave him a small briefing; he had to go to an old corner store and kill a fire bender, unseen, and with no blood. Dark dared to ask the amount of money that he would get from this job only to be surprised that the man’s number had grown since last time. 

Dark agreed to the job with a handshake, as well as asking the man to care to Kana and her sister’s every wish and to deduct the money from his new pay before he left within the shadows. I’m sorry… but if I have to support you… I’ll have to do it with smearing crimson. 

Chiharu made sure Kana had everything she needed before she was sure she could head out. With a few extra coins in her back pocket she thought it was be a nice idea to treat her and her sister to some sweets. The corner store had some pretty good deals from what she had learned from people at work. She promised her sister she wouldn’t be gone more than ten minutes.

Dark hid in the shadows, watching the target pace back and forth, obvious nervousness. He smilled violently, drawing his hand to the man’s pant leg. The man made an attempt to scream out for help, but Dark had already silenced the man with a spell. He pulled the man completely into the shadows, a devilish grin on his face as blades of shadows became reality. This was his world. 

He saw the man’s eyes, crystal blue eyes, open in that human fear that he fed off of. He laughed deeply, blood puddling at the sleeping man’s heart. 

“Thank you for the entertainment~! They’re paying me lot’s to kill ya’.” He said to the already dead man. 

He grabbed the man’s wallet, laughing even more before pulling himself out of the shadows and walking into the main store from the break room, almost as if nothing had happened.

Dark closed his eyes, gulping. “Maybe I can find something to stop those motherly cravings of yours.” He joked, putting his hand on the door knob. “I’ve been looking for a job though… Chiharu can’t support us all so I, as the man, need to get a job, whether I like it or not.” 

Kana frowned but accepted his little half-lie. “Alright. Don’t work yourself to death though, okay?”

Dark pulled away and sighed, his ears twitching as he heared a dog-like whistle. Time to do my job… He whispered in his head. “I’ll be back, I’m gonna make another run.” 

“Again?” Kana groaned, wanting him to stay with her more than ever now. “Why are you always leaving?”

Dark sighed, feeling the tension in the air and lowered his hands. “I’m sorry my queen… I-I really am…” He backed away, turning to the wall. He just wanted the shadows to swallow him whole and make him vanish from the real world for a while, but he had to keep by her side. “I’m sorry…” 

Kana sighed, her anger fizzling out of her bit by bit. “There’s nothing to be sorry over… what happened is over with. Now we just have to work with it.”

Dark lowered his head and went back to his love, kissing her on the forehead. “I’ll do everything. I’ll cook, clean, anything… I promise I won’t let the family of ours go down hill…” 

Kana nodded and smiled. “That’s all I ask.”

Dark pulled away and sighed, his ears twitching as he heared a dog-like whistle. Time to do my job… He whispered in his head. “I’ll be back, I’m gonna make another run.”

The doctor smiled, even though the two new parents didn’t show any true excitement, she looked to the little girl, telling her that she better take care of the two and to call her if anything bad happens before Dark paid her, and she left.

“U-uh… Kana? My queen…” Dark mumbled, walking back to her side and having his ears droop, ready to have her completely bitch him out.  He was even ready to dive into the shadows if it got to that point; he was just scared.

Kana had her hand over her eyes so she couldn’t see how pitiful he looked. “Really? Triplets? You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me!” She shouted. 
“Kana…” Chiharu muttered, trying to calm her sister down and think of using better words before she spoke.
“No! Because who knows what the fuck is going to happen to me?! I mean… have you seen him?!” She shouted. “No offense, Dark, I love you but I wouldn’t want three miniature versions of you inside of me!” 

Dark’s hands went to his ears, with all the yelling he was starting to go deaf. “… Y-you don’t know… they might not all be half-bloods…” He sighed, his eyes looking to the ground. “I didn’t wish for this exactly…” 

“I know but…” Kana groaned, on the verge of tears. “Fuck…”

The female doctor walked in behind Dark, walking to Kana and slowly examining her.  It took the old woman a while, making Dark more and more worried as the older woman’s face couldn’t show her thoughts. She pulled the blankets slowly off of Kana, opening a sac that was on a belt at her side before the water formed around her hands. She slowly pulled the water towards Kana’s stomach; finally a smile came to the old woman’s face as she pulled the water away and it slithered back into its sack. “Three are there, and are quite strong as well…” 

Dark nearly dropped his cover at hearing the old woman speak, only keeping hold of the spell that kept him like his lighter by a quick thought back to what might happen if he looses his cover. Considering the one guy he failed to murder ran to her and tattled on his description. Luckily he whipped the woman’s mind, but still there was a feeling of uneasiness. “Y-you mean…” His voice dropped, unable to speak the words. 

“I’m pregnant?!” Kana shrieked, suddenly alert. “With… triplets?” 
Chiharu stared at the woman in disbelief. “Are you sure?” 

Dark’s ears twitched as he had to cover them from the loudness. 

The old woman on the other hand nodded slowly. “Yes I’m sure. They’re lively too by the feel of it. I can’t say the gender of them, but I assure you that the three of them are in good condition…” 

Dark could only watch the old lady mouth the words, deciphering them within his head. “By the goddesses…” He finally whispered, his voice cracking. 

Kana’s head slumped back on the pillow, her mouth wide open in shock as she stared at the patterns on the ceiling. Fuck. She was pregnant. With triplets. She didn’t even have the energy to lift her head up and glare at Dark. What the fuck was she going to do?

Dark didn’t take long to find the doctor, though it took a lot of explaining, and an appearance that looked much more like the normal Raiden to get her to come. His hair was now a dirty blonde, his eyes a golden with red rimming the cat-like pupil. He opened the door, looking to Kana and Chiharu giving a fanged smirk and mouthing: ‘It’s me, Darky’ to them, hoping that they’d understand the different appearance. 

Kana’s condition was still too weak for her to be conscious of what was going on. An ax murderer could have walked in and she’d still lay there. 
“Thank you for coming.” Chiharu said, giving the doctor a little bow.

The female doctor walked in behind Dark, walking to Kana and slowly examining her.  It took the old woman a while, making Dark more and more worried as the older woman’s face couldn’t show her thoughts. “Alright, I’ll stay here and watch her. Just to make sure her condition doesn’t get any worse.” Chiharu said, grabbing her sister’s hand comfortably.

Dark hesitated but finally decided that it was best. “If anything happens, I’ll be back. I promise it won’t take that long.” It better not or else I’ll drag that lady over here by force, even if it is by my teeth. He walked to the door and rushed out, vanishing into the shadows before he even hit the inn staircase. 

Chiharu grabbed the cloth off of her sister’s forehead and drenched it in cold water again. “You’ll be okay.”

“Alright, I’ll stay here and watch her. Just to make sure her condition doesn’t get any worse.” Chiharu said, grabbing her sister’s hand comfortably.

Dark hesitated but finally decided that it was best. “If anything happens, I’ll be back. I promise it won’t take that long.” It better not or else I’ll drag that lady over here by force, even if it is by my teeth. He walked to the door and rushed out, vanishing into the shadows before he even hit the inn staircase.

Dark felt only worse and worse as he saw Kana’s condition get worse and worse. He didn’t know what to really do, but try to keep her relaxed, even that was hard though. 

“Kana… maybe we should find someone… I don’t like this at all…” He suggested softly, his ears tilted back in fear. For his and her well-being. 

Kana groaned. “It’ll pass I promise…” 
Chiharu sat on the side of the bed next to her sister, staring at her worriedly. “It’s beginning to get into the second week now. He’s right we have to get you some professional help.”

He sighed and walked towards her, looking to her with a soft sigh. “See, it’s not even all me that’s worried… Kana, please… I don’t like seeing my queen like this and even you said that you’ve had dizzy spells and such… and morning sickness… It can’t be good… not at all.” 

He scooted to her side more, kissing her on the cheek and putting his hand to her stomach. “You haven’t been able to sleep because you keep saying that it hurts but you won’t tell me what… Kana please can we go…. just once, I’ll make sure we don’t owe anything to the man…” 

Dark had recently worked for the hotel inn’s manager, delivering some, illegal missions across town. It payed well, but he didn’t let the two girls know about it. Not yet at least. 

Kana groaned. “I don’t think I could move from this bed…” 
Chiharu looked up at Dark. “You think the doctor would be so kind as to make a house call?” 

Dark nodded. “If he doesn’t well… I’d rather hope it doesn’t get that far.” He sighed and looked backed away. “I’ve heard of a good one in town but she’s a bit far, I can go retrieve her.”
